McCaw Lewis is a Waikato-based law firm that wanted to be at the leading edge of technology and use it to its fullest capability. Recognising that their traditional IT infrastructure was holding them back, they sought Dynamo6’s expertise to understand their technology problems and opportunities, and to help them navigate a crucial office move without disrupting business operations.

    Building a Strategic Foundation

    Our partnership began with a series of strategic workshops to understand the firm’s business goals and challenges, resulting in a comprehensive digital strategy roadmap. The first major project, timed with their office relocation, was to modernise their core infrastructure. We migrated them to Microsoft 365 for cloud productivity and moved their server workloads to Amazon Web Services (AWS), reducing their physical server footprint from eight to just one. We also designed and implemented a new high-speed network using Cisco Meraki hardware, ensuring the new premises was fit for a modern, cloud-first law firm.

    Proactive Security and Continuous Optimisation

    With the new infrastructure foundation in place, our partnership's focus shifted from migration to proactive optimisation. We worked with McCaw Lewis to conduct a comprehensive Security Review to ensure their environment aligned with modern best practices. This involved a deep dive into their firewalls, access controls, and incident response planning. The review allowed us to collaboratively identify key areas for improvement and implement a series of recommendations designed to further improve their overall security posture.

    Ongoing Strategic Guidance and Support

    The partnership has continued to evolve and deliver value years after the initial migration. As their ongoing Managed Services provider, Dynamo6 delivers strategic oversight and day-to-day support for McCaw Lewis's entire technology environment. This deep, ongoing relationship means we are there to guide them through significant business transitions, such as their move to the Leap legal software platform and the final migration of their on-premise files to SharePoint. Most recently, when McCaw Lewis acquired Forgeson Law, they entrusted Dynamo6 to manage the entire technology integration. This level of engagement, from daily support to strategic M&A activity, is a true testament to a trusted, long-term partnership.
