Stark Property’s MADE of Hamilton is an upscale market and office space, bringing together a vibrant mix of retail vendors, food outlets, and corporate tenants. During the building's refurbishment, Stark Property needed a forward-thinking Wi-Fi solution that could cater to the vastly different needs of its tenants, from sole traders needing simple payment processing to larger businesses requiring private, secure networks.

The challenge was to engineer a single, cohesive network infrastructure that was secure, scalable, and capable of providing a seamless experience for both private tenants and public guests, all while delivering actionable insights back to the property owner.

Our approach

    Pre-construction Design & Planning

    To ensure optimal signal strength and avoid dead zones, we completed a predictive Wi-Fi analysis before construction. Using the building plans, we factored in on-site considerations like concrete pillars and wall materials to determine the best location for access points. These plans were shared with cabling contractors and included guidance for future growth, such as additional cabling for smart cameras.

    Network Segmentation & Configuration

    To cater for the mix of businesses, we created a sub-network structure that segregates public Wi-Fi from private tenant networks, enhancing security and privacy. This allows sole traders a simple way to connect their devices and take payments, while larger businesses have a private network with a dedicated connection to support their servers and security cameras. For public access, we configured a guest network using Splash Access to provide a customisable sign-in page with authentication and access controls.

    Implementation & Handover

    We managed the final implementation and commissioning of the network across the entire site. As part of the handover, we ensured the Stark Property team could access and understand the analytics provided by the guest Wi-Fi system. This empowers them with useful insights into popular spaces, connection durations, and repeat visitor information.

The network successfully provides a tailored and seamless connectivity experience for every tenant, no matter their size or need. From a sole trader requiring simple, secure payment processing to a large corporate office needing a private, high-performance network for its servers, the segmented infrastructure delivers.
