New Zealand’s public sector agencies face tightening budgets, rising security threats, and the constant need for resilient operations. The agencies seek innovative solutions to maintain service levels and reduce costs. The Hon. Judith Collins, Minister for Digitising Government of New Zealand, has asked agencies to collaborate with technology vendors to identify and implement cost-saving solutions and share the findings across government.

In his session, Helaman will present the findings of a Modern Workplace Review conducted with Inland Revenue, demonstrating the potential for significant cost savings and productivity gains through the strategic adoption of Google Workspace and ChromeOS. Attendees will gain actionable insights on how to achieve similar results within their own agencies.

Powering the Future of Work

Following Helaman's presentation, Neal French, Director of Chrome Enterprise Sales JAPAC, will take the stage at 2:45 PM on May 8th to discuss Navigating the Next Gen of Computing.

With over 20 years of global experience, Neal champions the web-based future of end-user computing, helping organisations optimise user experience and reduce costs.  His presentation will explore the 'technology supercycle' and how rapid advancements, particularly in AI, demand a fundamental rethinking of end-user computing strategies.

AI is rapidly transforming the way we work, and generative AI tools like Google’s Gemini are poised to revolutionise productivity within Google Workspace.  Public sector agencies can leverage AI to automate routine tasks, gain intelligent insights from data, and personalise user experiences.

Neal's insights will be of particular interest to those concerned with future-proofing their technology infrastructure, as he addresses the vulnerability of traditional systems and introduces Chrome OS as a more resilient and secure alternative.  He will also touch on the challenges IT leaders face with time constraints and the 'normalcy bias' that can hinder necessary change.
