OmniHealth is a leading healthcare organisation, managing a network of 21 medical practices, including a hospital, across New Zealand. With a distributed workforce of over 450 individuals, OmniHealth faced the challenge of operating with a complex, disparate IT environment that hindered visibility and posed security risks due to shared, generic user accounts. Seeking to reduce licence subscription costs and modernise their operations, they engaged Dynamo6 to lead their transition to Google Workspace.

The goal was to create a unified, secure, and cost-effective platform that would empower their staff and standardise processes across all locations. A key challenge was managing the change for a large, geographically dispersed team and ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption to critical healthcare services.


Our approach

    Understand and plan

    We began with a comprehensive discovery phase to understand OmniHealth's existing environment and its dependencies. Through detailed analysis and collaborative workshops, we mapped their nationwide network's complexities, allowing us to design a migration strategy that would minimise disruption and resolve the significant security challenge of moving from generic logins to secure, individual user accounts.

    Migrate and enable

    We successfully migrated all mail and calendar data to Google Workspace. A core part of our strategy was empowering OmniHealth's team through a "train the trainer" program for key staff at each practice. To ensure a smooth go-live with minimal disruption to clinical services, we provided all-day virtual drop-in sessions via Google Meet, giving staff immediate access to our experts for questions and support.

    Continued support

    Following the successful migration, Dynamo6 has established an ongoing managed support agreement with OmniHealth. This ensures their team has continuous access to our cloud engineering and technology advisory experts, providing them with guidance for improvement and troubleshooting support to maximise their investment in Google Workspace.

    Building on success

    The successful Google Workspace migration built a strong foundation of trust and demonstrated the value of a modern cloud platform. This partnership naturally extended into defining a "Modern Practice" blueprint, which was later piloted at their Tuakau clinic and included further initiatives such as Dialpad for telephone and a Chrome pilot for application modernisation and virtualisation of key medical systems.
