We are thrilled to announce that Dynamo6 has been awarded the status of an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Consulting Partner. We are incredibly proud to be the first Waikato-based company to achieve this recognition and to join a select group of just 15 AWS consulting partners across New Zealand at the time.

This prized partnership was awarded based on our team's certified technical expertise and our proven success in helping businesses leverage the power of the cloud.

Local Expertise for a Global Platform

In 2016, AWS was already the world’s leading cloud platform, counting global success stories like Netflix and Qantas, as well as local heroes like Xero, among its clients. At the time, AWS was estimated to be ten times the size of its nearest competitors combined, making our partnership an alignment with the undisputed leader in cloud innovation.

Achieving the AWS APN Consulting Partner status provides Dyanmo6 with access to a greater range of resources and training to support our customers in deploying, running, and managing applications in the AWS cloud.

Our founder and Executive Director, Igor Matich, highlighted what this meant for local organisations:

We are delighted about this as it gives Waikato organisations local expertise and access to AWS as one of the world’s leading cloud platforms. It is suited to any organisation wanting to benefit from cloud computing as a cost-effective way to manage IT while helping people work better, easier and faster, with more flexibility. It is particularly good as a platform to build applications to help businesses scale and grow.

Our Expertise in Action

A key factor in achieving this partnership was our successful work with Tainui Group Holdings. The commercial arm of Waikato-Tainui, Tainui Group Holdings, managed an extensive and diverse portfolio, which created the challenge of running separate IT systems across four offices and three server domains.

Our team migrated their entire infrastructure to be 100% cloud-based, leveraging both AWS and Office 365. This project integrated their technologies and enabled their staff to have secure, seamless access to their systems from anywhere.

Reflecting on the project, Igor noted the importance of understanding the client's unique needs.

It's a challenge to manage IT across multiple businesses in different sectors, but this project demonstrates how cloud services can support a multi-faceted organisation while also respecting community values of guardianship, care for each other, and building trust and integrity.

A Journey Through Time

Achieving this status in 2016 was a foundational moment for Dynamo6. It solidified our commitment to the AWS platform and marked the beginning of a journey that has seen us develop deep expertise in helping New Zealand businesses build secure, scalable, and innovative solutions in the cloud.

Editor's Note

This post from August 2016 marks a foundational moment in our history—the beginning of our official journey as an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Consulting Partner. At the time, we were one of only 15 partners in the country. While the cloud landscape and our own capabilities have grown immensely since then, this milestone was a critical step that laid the groundwork for the cloud expertise and AWS services we provide to New Zealand businesses today.
