Sylvia Park, owned by Kiwi Property Group, is New Zealand's largest shopping center. Recently, it has been evolving from a traditional retail space into a vibrant community hub that blends shopping, entertainment, eateries, and residential living. To reflect this new vision, the company needed a modern and dynamic website that could handle the complexity of this new model.

The goal of the project was to create a digital platform that could connect and deliver a cross-platform experience, capable of managing hundreds of thousands of data points while supporting the new "eat, work, live, and shop" opportunities. Through our digital and technology consulting, we guided a long-term delivery roadmap and feasibility plan to achieve this.

  • The new Sylvia Park website reflects our vision for a mixed-use community website. Dynamo6's understanding of our goals and meticulous design process helped us create a digital platform that connects all aspects of Sylvia Park, from shopping and dining to work and entertainment.

Our approach

  • 01

    Understanding the Vision

We began by immersing ourselves in the precinct vision through a series of collaborative workshops. Drawing on Kiwi Property's research and benchmarking against leading international examples, we translated their high-level goals into a clear set of functional requirements and established a long-term delivery roadmap that would guide the entire project.

  • 02

Designing the Experience & Digital Toolkit

Our design phase focused on creating a seamless user experience (UX) that balanced brand goals with user needs. We prototyped key user flows and developed a comprehensive digital design system to translate the new brand into a consistent set of web components. This blueprint guided the creation of a powerful marketing toolkit within the Silverstripe CMS, featuring custom controls to manage hundreds of stores and a deep integration with the 'MappedIn' system, which seamlessly powers the physical in-centre wayfinding kiosks.

  • 03

    Building a Scalable Platform

We built the website in two-week agile sprints, using a continuous integration and deployment approach that allowed for rapid feedback and parallel content loading by the Kiwi Property team. The platform was engineered with a forward-thinking multi-site architecture to support future growth. It is hosted securely and efficiently on Google Cloud Platform through our Advanced Host service, with ongoing support ensuring the platform remains secure and up-to-date.

The results

The new Sylvia Park website successfully reflects the vision for a mixed-use community and provides a future-proof digital platform that can scale with the precinct's growth.

  • Integrated experience: The website connects all aspects of Sylvia Park and links directly to the in-centre physical experience through the kiosk integration.

  • A scalable blueprint for growth: Built with a multi-site architecture, the platform provides a proven blueprint that can be efficiently replicated across Kiwi Property's entire portfolio.

  • Empowered marketing toolkit: The custom-built CMS and easily replicable landing pages provide a valuable toolkit that empowers the marketing team to quickly create and update content for Sylvia Park's packed marketing calendar of events and campaigns.

  • Intuitive user journey: A thoughtfully designed user experience helps visitors navigate the complex offerings of Sylvia Park, making it easy to find what they're looking for.

  • We needed a website that could handle the complexity of our evolving precinct model. Dynamo6's long-term vision and robust technology stack ensure the Sylvia Park website is future-proof and ready to integrate seamlessly with future innovations.
